Cindy Boggs has worked in the fitness industry for more than 25 years. She has served as fitness coordinator for the Charleston YMCA for the past 20 years where she trains fitness instructors and coordinates an innovative fitness program for more than 10,000 members.Currently she serves as the director of West Virginia’s Activate America—a nationwide initiative to combat obesity and inactivity.

Governor
Joe Manchin III to serve on the West Virginia Healthy Lifestyle Coalition, chaired
by First Lady Gayle Manchin, which studies obesity issues and seeks to improve the
health of all West Virginians.
Certified by the American Council on Exercise since 1992, Cindy is known for her
common sense approach to achieving a healthy lifestyle in a hectic world. Her training
philosophy seeks to find the perfect balance between safe and cutting edge fitness
training.
She is a featured columnist for the Charleston Sunday Gazette-Mail. Her health and
fitness Q and A column has appeared every other week since February 2002. Cindy is also a
regular contributor to The State Journal, a statewide business newspaper and appears weekly with
the WOWK-TV noon news call-in segment---“Ask the Expert”.
An inspiring fitness presenter, Cindy speaks on the physical and emotional benefits derived from leading an active life and encourages positive lifestyle choices within schools, support groups, churches and in corporate settings.
She recently released a healthy lifestyle advice book, CindySays… “You Can Find Health in Your Hectic World”, which is a reliable Q and A resource that cuts through the confusion and offers solutions and strategies to overcome everyday health and fitness obstacles.
