Bosu Ball- is an athletic training device consisting of an inflated rubber hemisphere attached to a rigid platform. It is also referred to as the "blue half-ball", because it looks like a stability ball cut in half. Bosu is an acronym which stands for both sides utilized.
Bracing- Bracing is stiffening or consciously tightening the abdominal wall. It’s a neutral position—not sucking in and not pushing the belly out.
Core- The core refers to the body minus the legs and arms. Functional movements are highly dependent on the core, and lack of core development can result in a preponderance to injury. The major muscles of the core reside in the area of the belly and the mid and lower back.
Core Strength- The balanced development of the deep and superficial muscles that stabilize, align, and move the trunk of the body, especially the abdominals and muscles of the back.
Erector Spinae- Muscle deep in the back responsible for extension of the spine. It runs up the middle of the back from the sacrum and iliac crest to the transverse processes of all ribs.
Multifidus- The multifidus consists of a number of fleshy and tendinous fasciculi, which fill up the groove on either side of the spinous processes of the vertebrae, from the sacrum to the axis. The multifidus is a very thin muscle.
Powerhouse or Core- The center of your body—the area between your bottom ribs and the top of your pubic bone, is your powerhouse. It includes the abdominals and the lower back. For many, the powerhouse area of the body is also thought to be the energetic center of the body.
Rectus Abdominis- The long, flat muscle that covers your midsection.
Shoulder Girdle- The bony arch formed by the collarbones and shoulder blades in humans.
Stability Ball- Fitness balls that are large balls, 55cm - 75cm that are used in all kinds of fitness scenarios from physical therapy to yoga, Pilates, and abdominal training. Also known as Swiss balls, exercise balls, theraballs, balance balls.
Shoulder Girdle- The bony arch formed by the collarbones and shoulder blades in humans.
