Adaptation- Adaptation is the type of change in physiologic functions that occur with training, rest, and recovery.
Body Composition- Body composition is a health-related physical fitness component that relates to the relative amounts of muscle, fat, bone, and other vital parts of the body.
Constant Resistance- Constant resistance means the amount of resistance remains the same through the range of movement.
Core- Core is a common fitness term referring to the abdominals and the lower back.
Insulin Resistance- Insulin resistance is the condition in which normal amounts of insulin are inadequate to produce a normal insulin response from fat, muscle and liver cells. People who are insulin resistant are at a greater risk for obesity, diabetes and heart disease.
Lean Muscle- Lean Muscle is simply muscle and is used when referring to body composition and comparing and measuring the amount of lean muscle one has to the amount of fat.
Muscular Strength- Muscular strength is defined as the maximum amount of force that a muscle can exert against some form of resistance in a single effort.
Overload- Overload means that the body adapts to the type and amount of training stimulus imposed and fitness gains are made by progressively increasing the exercise load.
Progression- Progression is the change in adaptation response.
Range of Motion- Range of Motion is also referred to as range of movement. A joint's range of motion is usually measured by the number of degrees from the starting position of a segment to its position at the end of its full range of the movement.
Repetitions- Repetitions are the number times an exercise is repeated within one set.
Variable Resistance- Variable resistance means the amount of resistance changes through the range of movement.
